Vice President of Finance

We have an immediate opening for a seasoned finance executive to join our leadership team — leading all finance activities, overseeing Human Resources, and participating with senior management in setting the strategic direction of the company. This position may grow into a Chief Financial Officer position as the company grows.
Essential Functions:
- Direct and oversee all financial activities of the DNA Direct, including the following:
- Creation of management financial reporting and analysis to budget/forecasts
- Management of a financial close process for the business
- Preparation and presentation of Board of Director reports
- Development of the annual financial budget and periodic forecasts
- Development of key performance metric reporting and analysis
- Creation of financial reporting systems and controls
- Capital budgeting and analysis
- Evaluation of various revenue and pricing models
- Mentoring key staff with budget accountability in budget to actual reporting
- Building of finance function and team
- Working with outside auditing firm
- Participate with the senior executive team in the development of the DNA Direct strategic plan
- Partner with Business Development in the negotiation and evaluation of strategic partnerships and opportunities
- Coordination of legal issues
- Overseeing HR (payroll services, 401k administration, etc)
- Equity administration, and guidance
- Key participant in evaluating potential strategic investors, and leading due diligence.
Qualifications:
- Requires CPA and/or MBA with twelve (12) + years of experience with at least five years of experience in a senior/executive financial leadership role
- Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up company environment
- Willingness to take responsibility for all finance responsibilities
- Experience in successfully performing each of the essential finance functions listed above
- Ability to review contracts, negotiate deals, and be a member of the strategic team that looks broadly at the wide range of organizational goals while considering and advising of the financial implications.

Marketing Director

We are seeking a Director of Marketing who is capable of managing multiple aspects of marketing – including positioning strategy, awareness tactics, and public relations. Key responsibilities:
- Work with the CEO and other team members to develop and manage a brand strategy (including web, print, etc).

Senior Software Developer
Position Title: Senior Software Developer

We are looking for a senior software engineer to join our team. This senior position is for an experienced Java developer with 6-8 years of experience. You will be the technical owner of significant components of the system.
This is a very hands-on coding position. As part of a growing company you should expect software engineering tasks of varied difficulty levels. You must have excellent communication skills, and enjoy the variety that comes from working as a key member of a team of developers.
Responsibilities will include:
- Design, code and optimize new and previously built software infrastructure
- Quality assurance responsibilities, including use-case scenarios and automating software testing
- Establish software engineering best practices
- Optimiz current software applications, and establish development guidelines to consistently deliver quality software
- Participate in software architecture planning
- Create detailed class design according to specifications, diagram and document this design

Experienced Web Developer
Position Title: Web Developer & Producer
Start Date: Immediate
We are seeking an experienced Web Developer with strong knowledge of javascript, HTML, CSS, and basic java programming in a JSP context. The position will involve regular interaction with a proprietary WYSIWYG content management system for production and updates of web page content along with maintenance and enhancement of a javascript library of dynamic web widgets. Although the content-production portion of this position will involve a WYSIWYG editor, this position requires hand-coding proficiency with JSP templates, javascript and CSS.
DNA Direct is growing our web development staff, and this position will offer a dynamic mix of basic content production from Word files, advanced javascript coding of dynamic web functionality and cross-platform-compatible CSS markup – all within a JSP framework. The web developer position will support multiple new initiatives and will have a foundational role in developing and implementing functionality for sophisticated web applications and user tools for the personalized medicine market.
As a part of a small team you should expect software engineering tasks of varied difficulty levels. The Web Developer position will require good communication skills and a motivation to predict and respond to all aspects of a superior user experience – both for external users such as customers and business partners as well as our internal user-base of clinical staff, content experts, and coworkers.
The Web Developer will work closely with the Web & Interface Architect, the back-end java development team (IT), and the content production team to implement, populate, and maintain the current website as well as participating in the development of a new web 2.0 destination site with an enhanced offering of web tools and user interactivity. In addition, the web developer with also work with our clinical staff to maintain and improve our clinical content and reporting system for genetic testers, their physicians and other medical service providers.
Skillsets:
- ability to *hand-code* html without needing Dreamweaver or other WYSIWYG program
- 5+ years html, CSS
- 3+ years javascript, DHTML
- 3+ years JSP experience or 5+ years in a similar framework (ASP/PHP)
